Which donor cart for next build?
This is my first post here. Been trolling the forum trying to get info for my next golf cart build. Here are some old pictures of my first build. Picked up a 98 Club Car, gutted it to the frame and restored it from the ground up back in 2002.
img039.jpg Alas, it is getting a little long in the tooth, and I'm once again feeling the need to build I'm thinking of a lithium battery powered, AC motor screamer with the biggest wheels I can stuff in there. 4 wheel disc brakes of course and a killer stereo. I already have the fastest, loudest cart at the country club but I just wanna take it to the next level. Soooo.... Here's my question. I can fabricate a little bit, but don't weld. I can make some parts (I designed and build my own CNC mill and lathes) I want to know which brand of cart would be best to modify. Basically I need a rolling chassis. Yamaha, Club Car or EZGO??? I'm thinking of a Yamaha G19 or G22 at this point, but it really depends on the feedback I get here. So please let me know your opinions and why you would choose a particular brand over another. |

Re: Which donor cart for next build?
Ronncat......I did a little looking in body kits for my cart.....adn seeing has how you have one on yours, its a beautiful cart btw......when scowerin the net looking for any and all cart body kits, the vast majority are primarally made for Club Cars. So if you have a mind to put a custom body on your new cart there are more choices, that may be something to consider. not to mention the aluminum frame.
oh and btw...... Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy. oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

What's your budget? The lithium and A/C drive will cost $5k alone.

Re: Which donor cart for next build?
That's OK..
It will still cost me less than the last one. However, I'm planning on keeping the stock body on this next one. Maybe no top.. just a small windscreen like an old Porsche 356... or maybe a convertible on/off top? |
