Body swap? Ezgo and caroche
Ok, I've never done a cart body swap. I don't know if it is as simple as moding the frame and mount points or if it is more involved, but there is a Caroche body fs locally. I have an old marathon sparky i converted to gas. I like the look of the Caroche....
Is it a fools errand to try the body swap? I did a search and didn't find anything on this subject. Any pointers or advice is appreciated. Thanks! |

Anything is possible,as long as you have the ability.A tape-measure and good comparison-notes will be a good start.Take width measurements at various points such as body-width,cowl to floor, cowl to footwall, rear body dimensions from axle to seat-wall,etc..Then compare them. When I do something like this,I will split the page, put the area being measured in the middle, and one cart on each side, then you can easily compare them. Most carts are fairly similar in size, its the small things that cause issues, but a lot of them are easily adjusted/changed.Wheel-Base(center of front-axle to center of rear-axle) isn't real important, since the body is 2 separate pieces,Track-Width(side to side) will probably be fairly close, but can be altered with wheel-offsets/spacers.Go for it,Why not do a cool swap into an easier-serviced chassis, since Caroche stuff is tough to get,and EzGo parts are everywhere.Hope this helps.

Thanks Pachanga. I'll see how the measurements play out. This guy wants $100 for the fiberglass body. Do you think that's a decent price?

As long as its decent,a few minor repairs are ok,but if its got structural damage,it can be hard to fix, especially if you aren't experienced with fiber-glass.

Re: Body swap? Ezgo and caroche
Hi Rifter, I passed on it. It was in Hudson on CList. He was asking $100 for it. It looked sanded, but not painted.
I did not go see it. I decided instead to keep the metal body and just put a coat of paint on it. |
