Default Seat Belts for Rear Seat??

Does anyone have experience with installing seatbelts on their rear seat?

What seatbelts did you use?
Where did you attach the seatbelts on the frame?

so the standard universal "bar" is worth getting like $50 normally and its a bolt on to most carts no problem. it will use the same bolts your seat likely uses to bolt to the uprights. The one thing I mention is you will need larger bolts likely.

I do NOT recommend buying your seat belts from any cart supplier they are small they dont fit me or my wife, only good for children IMO.. if you do choose to buy from a cart shop I recommend that you look at belt extensions for adults.

I chose to mount mine so that the belts could be flipped to the front or rear seats.

Yes. I used a seat belt vendor and got retractable 60". They fit me and my kids. I have two front seat uprights and bolted to them. I did buy the universal bar.

I install the seat belt kits that are made by MadJax all the time and they fit 250 pound men no issue. If they didn't fit someone, they are either to big to be in a cart or installed wrong.

On the rear seat, when not wanting to burn money on that long bar, I just drill two holes in the frame at the center for the receivers and then one on each side of the flip seat frame....behind where the seat sits when down. They come with very large bolts when you buy them. About 60 bucks a pair.

I've tried to use automotive belts from cars before but they aren't the best choice.

I have found out the Madjax rear seat belt kit does NOT work with my rear set kit (Stelleng Golf Cart)...has anybody found seat belts that work for rear seats where you kept the sweater basket?

Yes that was what I was talking about. The Steelen unit that retains the basket doesn't allow the seat belt bar to fit. You can drill them directly into the flip seat frame. The belt part on the handle bar, outside side of course, and the receivers to the center of the flip frame under the basket. I knew I should have taken pictures.

I had installed that seat kit in a cart and the guy didn't want seat belts. The next day he brought it back, and said the wife said no seatbelts, no go.

Here's a very crude diagram. I have also done it with the belt mechanism screwed to brackets mount on the side of the uprights, where you see the cooler in that picture. Obviously, the cooler or other brackets would have to be removed in that case
