Some have routed a return line to bleed excess fuel back to the tank, but this doesn't help if it's running out of fuel, only too much fuel. But fuel delivery is sometimes tricky depending on what type of tank pickup you have, and also how much fuel line you are running from the tank to the pump and pump to carb. I've found the bottom pickup tanks are best so gravity can help deliver fuel to the pump. The shorter your fuel line is the better.
