Every cart is different in what will give the most boost for the buck, but I would replace ALL CABLES ( including motor and F&R switch cables, as well as battery cables ) that are now 6 guage with ( at least 4 guage ) welding cable with as many strand count available. I would get and or make cable and use correct size ends that are crimped and soldered with a good shrink covering over connections to cut down on corosion later on.
