Default Re: Star golf Cart parts and info

In order to install a stereo, you likely have 6x8v batteries and will require either a 48vto12v or a 16vto12v voltage reducer.
Looking at the specifications for the Star Cart it appears that they come standard with a 48vto12v voltage converter.
Another option is to add a stand alone 12v battery but you will need to charge it independently.

The controller you have is likely a Curtis 1268 and is fully programmable.
From one of your earlier posts "Rough ride, unstable down hill with 4 passangers, Rattles a bunch off road, wobble in back axle, no info on internet."

I think you may already be programmed to the max with the regen braking minimized which is why it tends to runaway downhill.
If you want to reprogram, visit the Curtis website for all the programming details. http://curtisinst.com/index.cfm?fuse...tegory&catID=9
IMHO, I'm guessing if you're looking for info on how to install a stereo, the programming may be a little over your head and the $200 deal may be your best bet.

The closest informational dealer I can find to you is in Summerfield, FL or Mt Dora, FL http://www.golfcartconnection.com/starindex.htm
I think there are other Star dealers in GA, try here:

I think the importer for these carts may be JH Global Inc located in Greenville, SC.
