Will this motor controller work for my 36v ezgo?
I have a 92 ezgo marathon that has a textron motor, but the motor controller had water damage. The controller was a Curtis pmc 0–5kΩ model 1204-009. Voltage 24-36. Current 275 amps. I recently purchased a replacement controller (model 1204x-4214), but it was not compatible because j1 prong was missing and ksi was instead part of the 6-pin module molded into it (attached in the last 2 photos) Don’t want to make this mistake again. I found another one on eBay (1st two photos attached), can anyone tell me if this one will work? The one I found is Curtis pmc 5k-0Ω model 1204-412. Voltage is 36-48. Current is 300 amps. Also this ones description says 5k-0Ω instead of 0–5kΩ. Not sure if that matters. I do not want to upgrade the solenoid or fnr switch. Just want to make sure going from 275 amps to 300 amps won’t cause any issues. Already upgraded to 4 gauge cables.

Re: Will this motor controller work for my 36v ezgo?
Answered my own question. I need 0–5kΩ, that controller is 5k-0Ω because it’s from a club car. This controller won’t work. Still curious about the 275 to 300 amps though.

Re: Will this motor controller work for my 36v ezgo?
The upgrade (if you figure out the throttle issue) has two changes that together make a big difference. First you get more amps. Not a lot more, but 25 more amps. BUT, it's at a higher voltage since the new controller is 36-48v where the prior was 24-36v. The most power the old controller can give is 36v * 275 Amps = 9,900 watts (power). The new controller is 48v * 300 amps = 14,400 watts. You'd need to upgrade the battery/solenoid/charger as well so you get 48v sent to the controller. The stock motor can handle higher voltages.

Look at your throttle pot and see if there is an extra wire. Some will do 0-5k and 5k-0

could you possibly point me in the direction of one that could do both. i have an 84 marathon and just picked up a curtis controller that requires a 5-0k input (didn't look at this prior to purchase )

Pb-6 is a box with a little soldering should work. Before you do that check the one you have and see if it has the extra terminal that would allow you to hook it up the other way.
