converting a 1985 club car to use a controller
I have a 1985 36v Club Car. Being new to the golf cart world I was given the age of my golf cart to that of the mid to later 90's when someone had purchased it for us. I however through research, have found that I do not have a motor controller but have seperate solenoid/resisters that run it. Problem is, in my excitement to upgrade it's sluggish drive up hills, I Purchased an Alltrax 36-48 NPX 400-amp controller. Does anyone have ideas on how or if I can convert my cart to use a controller instead of the five solenoids/resisters. Will this motor which i believe is a series wound work with the controller. I do not want to "break the bank" with money. Thank you.

IN the little search box which drops down from the barely visible blue line of options above ..... type in 48v conversion and you will find yes your cart is a candidate and a whole evenings worth of reading....Good luck
