Just curious, did you ever find a motor? You don't see many of the sparky Harleys. I've got a '68 DE. Mine has a GE motor, is that what yours has?

I was working on the cart for someone else. After the local motor shop determined that the motor was toast, I started the search for another. The two best leads I had were Vintage Golf Carts in Washington state and Mountain Top Carts in N. Carolina. Vintage had a motor but it also was not repairable. Mountain Top said they would find me a new one but after about 3 weeks they came up empty( They probably checked all the sources for a new motor that I also tried).

Right from the start, my solution was to remove his newer batteries, keep them and the charger, and get rid of the cart, which is what happened after a month an a half of being without the cart(he's partially disabled). We found a nice EZGO TXT with dead batteries for $500, problem solved.

While I know he was attached to that Harley as he had owned it for 15 years, He would have probably spent $800- 1000 to get it going, in my opinion the cart wasn't worth anywhere near that.

Ok I gotcha. Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll cross the 'finding a motor' bridge for mine when I reach it (which hopefully isn't anytime soon)...
