draining a weak battery
We installed a new radio system. Would this drain a weak battery to prevent the cart from starting? We only use the radio while the cart is in operation and sometimes don't have the radio on at all.

Re: draining a weak battery
No it shouldnt dran your battery, If you have a meter, take a reading of your battery, should be about 12.7V, and then crank your cart and do another reading and it should be about 13-14v if your charge system is working-

Re: draining a weak battery
If you have the memory wire hooked up to save your presets you will have a very minimal draw but that shouldn't affect it unless left over the winter.
Pull the battery cables off of the battery and Ohm across them to see if you have a draw. then remove your radio wires and retry. You say you have a weak battery to start with, have it load tested and replace if needed. Do the check Rib explained, these tests will get to the bottom of it. |
