melted battery terminal
I was driving alone and all of a sudden the golf cart stopped. I look and one of the battery terminals is hanging off by the wire and the post is all melted. I have recently changed the battery wires and added a freedom chip. Could either of these been the issue. Also is it fixable or is the battery toast. How do I keep it from happening again.

Re: melted battery terminal
It can be tapped. Use the forum search to locate instructions with pictures!
This was likely caused by a LOOSE connection. Good Luck |

Re: melted battery terminal
You may have over tightened the nut on the battery terminal when you changed the jumpers. Is the whole post loose in the battery case?

Re: melted battery terminal
all these melted posts pics I see never have any lock washers on them.
that was the first thing I did was buy some stainless steel lock washers and make sure they are tight, then the lock washer will do the rest.....keep it tight. |
