Though I like the 89 EZGO that I have they are very heavy compared to there plastic brothers I would locate a lighter car for your build, no intention of peeing in your wheeties here. I have a couple sled powered gassers and the only real advantage our 89 marathon has over our Hyundai is during bump to pass roundy round in our back fourty. A lighter cart is like free hp and easier on drive parts.

I have a 96 EZGO TXT with 400 amp Alltrex Controller, Plub Quick Motor, 200 amp solonoied, 4 guage wiring. 12"wheels

EZGO 36V TXT, 12 Inch Cragar S/S with 50 Series tires. D&D Motor, 400 Amp Alltrax Controller, 6:1 gear.

I hit 43 mph flatland on my EZGO txt before I converted to 48 volts. Took a while to get there though. 6:1 gears, stock tires 590 peak amps with the SPM48500 and the High speed AMD 7126 motor.

in my neighbor hood we have like 20 people with golf cart that all hang out. one guy has a ezgo pds cart stock with a lift kit on 23'' tires with the 2 red jumper wires running 28mph. another guy has an ezgo built with a 500 amp axe controller lift kit with 23'' tires a mild motor nothing big BUT he has fork lift solenoid for the F&R he run 26mph .and they was the fastest till Saturday night 2002 C.C 48v comes out and smokes every one . he bought a HIGH speed motor like a 6hp and a 400 am axe controller bigger bus bars on his stock FR switch and new batterys and hit 30+mph and running stock tires
