trying to working out carb/throttle/linkage issues
need a little advise with my cart.....
background: newly installed fe290...runs fairly well, idles great, takes off pretty good. throttle linkage from accelerator to black box , pedal takes between 1/2 and 3/4 inch to start cart. no rev limiter installed on cart govener has been diabled by loosening bolt on govenor arm bracket problem: all of the engine speed is controlled by first 25%-50% of accelerator pedal.... after I push accelerator past about 1/2 way, rou can feel the motor start to "bogg" down..... thinking about tearing the carb apart and going thru it, and adding the newer "Power" jet while I got it torn apart...... should the cart have acceleration the entire portion of the throttle???? |

Re: trying to working out carb/throttle/linkage issues
Sounds like a plan.. going through the carb and the upgrade, that is... sounds like its starving for fuel and/or the intake is not restricted enough, youll lose a ton of power if you have a massive intake on a stock, or nearly so, motor.. try choking it as it starts to bog down and see if some of the power comes back as you do, itll give you a good idea of whats going on.. if you still have the stock intake on it, go old school and carefully spray some carb cleaner around the carb area to see if you have a vacuum leak somewhere..
