Default Alltrax trouble shooting

My Alltrax speed controller is blinking 1 green, then 3 reds when I turn my key on. The error code indicated in their trouble shooting guide is "HPD. Throttle hasn't gone to zero during this power on cycle." I get no response when I move my throttle lever.

Some background, I converted a Grasshopper lawn mower from gas to electric 5 years ago. I kept the hydrostat and run it with one of the electric motors, which has the Alltrax controller mentioned above. The PTO is run by a second electric motor that does not have a controller.
I have 15 CALB 180 lithium cells that make up my battery. About once a year, I have 1 cell that does not charge properly, so I hook them in parallel to even out the charge and level them all. I had this happen this week, so I did the parallel charge and then replaced them in the mower in series to get 48v. When I went to start, I got the above mentioned code.

Thanks for any ideas.

Wish I could help with your current issue. At least my post to this will bump your thread and the gurus will hopefully chime in...

Which Alltrax controller do you have?
Have you considered getting a BMS, to alleviate the balancing problem?
Sounds like a cool setup you built! Would you mind sharing some pictures?

You may find it helpful to disable the HPD in the controller software.
