6" lift tie rod spacer clearance
Good Morning,
I bought and installed a 6" Coil Over shock A-Arm Lift Kit for my Yamaha G29 (6 seater) Drive (electric). I have never been able to turn to the right very well but turning left is not problem. I finally tried to dig into the issue this weekend and it seems that the tie rod spacer bar for the passenger side hits up against the coil mount bracket almost immediately upon trying to turn. The driver's side has plenty of clearance. I looked at everything else on the front suspension and everything seems in order. Tried adjusting the tie rod but adjusting in either direction does not help. Since the spacer is attached solid to the wheel, whenever the wheel is turned right, there is that interference. I am wondering if that tie rod spacer is just a little out of spec (angles are of when welding it) creating the issue. It wouldn't take much. I have considered trying to add a small angled spacer but I think the correct thing would be to try to grind some material off of the tie rod spacer or the coil mount (or both) to allow for enough clearance. Obviously, I do not want to compromise the strength of the part, but it looks like there may be enough meet there to remove some. I have included pics with the cart at full lock both ways and the clearance issue. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Dan |

Re: 6" lift tie rod spacer clearance
It's difficult to see, but could you bend the steering arms on the spindle, bend them down so they are lower than the suspension?
