I found the roll I had. Its Scotch 2242 Rubber Electrical Tape.

Friction tape is also useful for hockey stick handle wrap - steering wheel wrap - shift handle covering -- anything you need extra grip traction to hold onto.
Please don't limit the use to only electrical. |

Funny you mention that. When I was a child and got a new baseball bat, my father would wrap the handle with friction tape.
