Default Reliable rear end

What is a good reliable rear end with the clutch/transaxle (with reverse) parallel to the axle? I currently have a G2 rear end and might be considering trying a different style rear end.

I would say you have a good one. I've beat the crap out of a few G2/G9 rear ends, no issues for me...last one was 23 hp vanguard.

From all that I've read, the G2 rear transaxle is about as tough as it comes. I've rebuilt one with new bearings and seals and the gears are large and heavy duty.

Do either of you know if you can get limited slips for them? I am eventually going to upgrade to the 8:1 gears and when I do I want to add the limited slip.

No limited slip that I'm aware of. I added 8:1 gears to my 23 hp G2, also removed governor parts.
