Default 96 Club Car DS... 6" lift / 23" tire upgrade

Still a work in progress... but figured I'd post pics here since it's now officially a lifted cart.

From the day it came home on the trailer (bought for $300) to most recent pics taken today.

I noticed a difference in the rims... (bead screw color) so will need to deal with retailer on that issue. 2 of the rims have chrome screws, 2 of them have black screws.

Still need to make some changes to the rear lift blocks to do the brake flip. I need an extra pair of spring plates, so will need to make a set today and will hopefully get them on after work tonight.

Also have a set of seat belts, dash basket, rear grab bar and vertical gun rack on the way.

This quarantine is giving me much needed time to tinker.

Looks good. I am jealous of the deal you got on that cart! That roof would have sold for $200 and probably $500 for the rest of the cart totally gutted out!

To be honest... all it was good for was a rolling chassis.

I had to replace literally every wire and electrical component on the cart, except the motor itself... and now I am shopping for one of those too.

I didn't even get battery cores with it... so I had to eat 6 core charges @ $30ea, above the cost of the $130 batteries... so with sales tax, that was $1k out of pocket right off the bat before I touched a single wire on the cart.

Fortunately I do all my own work. I cannot fathom how much it would cost to have all this done at a cart shop/dealer.

Motor and trans are out right now to be freshened, but it is a 2332cc with really big cylinder heads and dual webers. It is surprisingly fast for a lil 4-banger.

A couple recent cart pics.

I was whooped a$$ from doing the lift kit the day before... so not much work got done yesterday.

I got the front end measured and aligned... then put the rear grab bar on it so the kids dont fall off the back.

Took it for a spin and holy crap the thing is fast. The 23" tires really added some top-end to the cart and I already have the Alltrax turned down to 5000rpm. I may drop it to 4000 now. Im worried the kids will flip the darn thing. It feels really top-heavy now from the lift. I don't know how some of you crazy mo-fo's run35+ mph in these things. Balls of steel I suppose.

I havent had the cart or nice weather long enough to try that combo... but I'm sure that day is soon approaching.

I do have seatbelts on order at least. My wife insisted on that.
