Default 98 new solenoid, still won't go

Hi guys, It was going fine, stopped, won't go forward, or reverse, Solenoid clicks when in forward, and reverse, but not in neutral. I think the micro switches are working. Replaced the solenoid with a new one, same thing. Called the e z go place and was told it is probably the speed controller. A rebuilt one coast $230. Does that sound right about price and what might be wrong? The bottom of the solenoid gets hot even with key switch off. This is a fleet model and only lifted. OEM , I think. Thanks, Wes

Did you try jumping the solenoid? If so, Did the cart work then? Check ALL your connections real good. Take them loose one at a time, clean, re-install.

The solenoid should NOT click in neutral so that is ok. Sounds like the micro's are working fine. If it was a controller I strongly suggest you stay far away from a rebuilt unit....and far, far away from the mechanic who tried to sell you one.

The solenoid should not get hot with the key off.....unless you have something wired wrong....but if it worked fine before nothing should be connected improperly.

Where is your F/R control located?
Is there a toggle switch on the controller cover under the passenger seat?

Sorry, I made an assumption that you also had a 1998 which you do not.
You have a PDS cart.

sicsti07, you may not realize this but you have hijacked this thread and confused a few of us. I suggest you create your own thread and let the OP (wes1945) pursue his issue.

Thanx, and welcome to BGW!
