1989 rear end swap with a 2002? Electric to Electric
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows if a 2002 Club car DS rear end will fit a 1989 Club Car DS (Both Electric). My 89 has a leaky Diff and I have a good lead on a 2002 rear end, My questions is will my 89 motor mount up to the 2002 diff and will my 89 Brake Cables work on the 2002 rear end. Your experience with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time

Re: 1989 rear end swap with a 2002? Electric to Electric
It will work as long as the old diff is male and old motor are female. I'm not sure when they changed it but there were some with a female diff and male motor (maybe early -mid 80's?) other than that it should work. The brake cables should be fine. I just installed a new rear end with self adjusting brakes into an 81 the brake cables worked. The rear end was the old style so I had to get a female motor to match up.
