Default 2008 ezgo rxv - new brakes - still won't stop good

Put new brakes on my daughter's rxv, and it still won't stop good at all. Hubs didn't feel like they were going to go over the new shoes, but I tapped them with a hammer and they went. I can turn them by hand with very little drag, which I read is normal.

I have an adjustment for my cables on my txt, but don't see that under the rxv. Is there an adjustment, and is it under the floorboard?
Thanks

I took the hubs back off and adjusted brakes, Tapped hubs back on, one of them is a bit too tight to spin by hand, but brakes are working good now. Hope that one will wear a little and be OK.

If you can not turn them by hand or have to beat them on, there is an issue.

Being that tight is going to overheat them.

1) If all is installed properly and adjuster is back down all the way you can create space between shoe and drum by grinding/sanding a bit off the tab at the end of shoe where the 2 shoes meet at the adjuster.

2) Have drum turned.

3) Check cable adjustment. Not sure on a RXV/

Cable adjustment is on the passenger side just in front of the rear tire. Remove the tire to get easy access to the cable adjusting nuts.

Here's a photo from the RXV manual
