Default Help! Cart doesn’t want to move after repair.

Long story short, my son took a corner to fast and apparently the battery tie down had vibrated loose. Battery fell onto the spinning primary drive clutch destroying several wires and cracking the battery.

Spliced in new wires and replaced the battery. (Changed the oil and differential fluid while I was at it).

The problem is that engine does not seem to get up to speed enough so the clutches will engage.

Need help troubleshooting and to what my next steps should be. Cart is an ‘05 TXT with 352cc Robin engine.

Trying to post a link to a YouTube video but guess I don’t have enough posts yet.

Take the spark plug out and ground it to the block, then try to start it and see if its getting spark. My guess is that a wire is loose and its not getting fire to the plug. If it's not getting spark, you can trace it down fairly easily.

Check the fuse. And as said check for spark. These ignitors seem to damage fairly easily, they're sensitive. I do have a spare OEM one if it helps

I don’t think I explained it correctly. The engine seems to be running but will not rev up so the clutches will engage. It might go all of 1 mile per hour.

It's trying to start, but it's definitely not running. You can hear it hit a few times, but that is it.

After watching a few more times, it sounds like it started at first, but not getting fuel. Your starter belt is slipping too. I do not believe it's running. Is the exhaust warm?

I dont think it's actually running. Try and open the carb by hand instead of the pedal. If it is actually runjingnit will either rev or bog. If nothing changes then its not really running, just the starter/generator turning the motor over.

I'd start by checking all the fuses with a meter.

I was going to suggest the carb as well. Sounds like it's not getting any fuel.

Unless your motor and carburetor is set up different then my 2005 EZGO, it looks like you're missing the throttle linkage that runs from the back of the engine to the front, the one that runs across the timing belt cover. If that's missing, it's not going to fire up at all since the throttle will be closed.
