2004 Carryall Turf 2 question on incline speed
I am going to install new batteries in a recently acquired 2004 carryall.
My question is with the current curtis 300 Amp controller and the stock 3.75HP motor currently the cart does not climb inclines up my driveway well and slows significantly. They are 2006 Trojan batteries Should I expect a significant increase in incline speed with new batteries or should I upgrade the controller as well If I am to upgrade the controller does anyone have any recommendations for amps and brand? Thanks Last edited by prepferd; 06-17-2009 at 07:16 PM.. Reason: added battery type and year |

Re: 2004 Carryall Turf 2 question on incline speed
We can not give an exact answer because the information you have provided is vague... We know your batteries are old and tired but we don;t know how old and tired? An we know it slows on a slope but, we don't know how steep of a slope? So I will tell you what I know... You will naturally see improvement when the new batteries break in. It will not be hold onto your hat speed. Don't expect too much of an electric vehicle. Slowing on incline is only natural for an electric cart... battery condition has alot to do with how much it slows .... so does state of charge .... and controller size. The controller acts live a valve between the batts and the motor.... too small (stock) and it restricts the flow and too big is a waste. Hope this helps

Re: 2004 Carryall Turf 2 question on incline speed
Murrieta. Between Riverside and San Diego.
The grade isnt that significant as my 96 EZGO TXT goes right up the hill with no huge loss of speed. I have an older Carryall 1 and that beats the 04 hands down as well. So does a 400 or 500amp controller add that much more torgue? Thanks Scotty Craig |
