scottyb, here is a few pix showing how the reducer is hooked up on my cart. One wire goes to the "B negative" post on the controller and the other wire, (which has a factory splice to two wires on it), goes to the negitive side of the lights and horn. I guess it's reduced from the negative side of the batterys. The white wire is the positive wire for the lights. I hope this helps.

Well I'm gonna resurrect an old thread because it's finally running and tearing up the woods. I know I started this project in 08 but health reasons and finances kept me from finishing it. A couple of months back I was able to get back on it and do a little each week. It's still not finished but it is running strong and reliable so I'm happy with that. LED lights are next on the list. There's still many things planned like Big Buck Racks from Grizzly Metal Works.

I took a ride down the dirt road I live on with a GPS app on my iPhone and to my surprise I was able to do 18 mph, This cart is all stock so I'm pretty excited to see what it will do with a controller upgrade and new 875s . I only really expected to get around 14 or 15 out of it. I want to do that Bandit upgrade but the speed is fine, I just want more torque.

Since the speed is good for you, a controller, contactor and cable upgrade will do a lot for torque.

I’ve been looking at scottyb’s controller pkg 454 or 474, I’m leaning towards the #474 package and 2 gauge cables. I haven’t thought much about a contactor. I’m sure they’re better than a HD F/R switch but I’m curious, what happens to the micro switches when you convert to a contactor?
