Something new to do
Found something to do with those small raccoons the fur buyer either doesn't want or is only willing to give $5. I've done a few birds and a deer head maybe 40 years ago, so this is my first venture back and first time doing something with fur. It still needs some paint around eyes and nose, and a few touchups yet, but I was happy it didn't end up looking like it was hit by a semi.

Re: Something new to do
Moved from raccoon to ermine. Still making adjustments to face. It was too full at first and I wasn't happy with it. So using great taxidermy expertise, I pulled on his nose.

Curiosity killed the cat, and it didn't do the mouse much good either.

Re: Something new to do
Once upon a time.....at my first house, we had some mice....and they kept setting the trap off, but never got caught. come to find out, the little buggers were smart enough that the crawled on top of the bail first, instead of approaching the food from the trigger end. So, they would crawl onto the bail and start to eat the bail gingerly....but when they triggered the trap, instead of breaking their neck.....it catapulted through the air!! I guess they thought it was a ride!! LOL
so WE got smart and found a small box and laid it on its side, with the end open, only one way in, towards the trigger, one at a time......BAM! LOL |
