Ignition
Hey, I've noticed that all Club Cars use the same ignition, therefore, anyone driving away with my cart. Is there anyway to get a new ignition to remedy this situation?
Thanks |

Re: Ignition
I went to a few automotive stores around town and they dont seem to support the number of wires for that ignition

Re: Ignition
Its a simple 2 wire ignition switch..thats all. They do make a keyed ignition switch especially for your cart, but its probably pricey. Go to any auto parts store and ask for a 2 wire ignition switch. Even a boat/marine store would have it, probably even a lawnmower shop.

Re: Ignition
you can use a 5 post switch ..... just connect to 2? ..... that is what the test light is for....testing, to see which terminals are hot when the key is on......

Re: Ignition
It doesn't matter if it's a two wire or three wire. The three wire is like a car ignition that has an extra turn for the starter motor. Just leave that postion blank and only use the on position. Mine is a three position only because it had a better key then the two position. Your choice

Re: Ignition
I just bought a 4 post 'keyed different" key switch for my Lynx gasser...
$32.00 from my CC dealer... but IMO worth it! a 2 post may be cheaper, you could check with our sponsors!?! |

Re: Ignition
I found one on eBay for about $10 if you don't mind waiting. Search for golf cart keyed switch. Can't remember the actual site. Hookup is cake and it's a perfect fit.
