New Controller advice and where to purchase

I am looking to upgrade my curtis 300amp controller on my 2004 ClubCar Carryall turf 2.
If I go with a 400 amp or 500amp controller is there a need to upgrade the wires to 4 gauge and what is the best place and brand controller that is recommended.
Plus will I see a dramatic difference in torgue or speed by doing this.

I would go with a ALLTRAX controller, whether you go with programable unit is up to what you will be doing in the future? Many times once you get HOOKED ON UPDATES the skys the limit. Now is the time to pick the controler for the future needs, you dont want to have to replace the controler again because of not thinking it out now? Think about what you ( might want to do in future ) like--HD F&R switch, larger HP motor-multy speed motor, larger wheels and tires, major lift kits, changing to 60-72-84-96 volt battery pack, heavier duty springs than you have already, etc.
Every cart is different in what will give the most boost for the buck, but I would replace ALL CABLES ( including motor and F&R switch cables, as well as battery cables ) that are now 6 guage with ( at least 4 guage ) welding cable with as many strand count available. I would get and or make cable and use correct size ends that are crimped and soldered with a good shrink covering over connections to cut down on corosion later on.
