Newbie Question - Allsports vs. Jakes on a Yamaha G9
Hello everyone,
I've been lurking around for the past few weeks and have read a TON of good information. I'm going to pick up a Yamaha G9 tomorrow if time will allow. There are a couple of supposedly small mechanical problems with the cart, but it's pretty strait for it's age. I want to lift the cart and have been looking at the 7" Allsports lift (ASM-Y29) or the 6" Jake's lift (6251). I'm trying to decide which lift will be the best for me. I looking for a lift that is pretty easy to install and requires as little modification to the cart as possible. For example, do I have to level the engine with either lift kit? Will there be clearance issues with either lift that require some type of other modification to the cart such as cutting the body? I plan on using the recommended tire size with whatever I choose. Are there any little tidbits that I need to know before I jump into the project. I can already see how you guys like pics and hopefully I can do a build thread in the Yamaha Gas forum. I've got many more questions that I want to ask. Thanks in advance! Alan |

Welcome. I have not had any experience with Jake's, but I have worked on All Sports with my neighbor on a club car and everything was easy as could be with no problems at all.

You didn't mention how you would be using the cart.

Thanks for the replies so far!
Sorry, the cart will be used for yardwork and hauling stuff around the house and for hunting. I haven't decided on everything yet, but along with the lift kit, I'm planning on heavy duty rear springs and a torque kit. |
