How to remove G-16 body?
I am going to tackle it this weekend. How difficult is it to remove the body and what is involved? Are there any special tools required? I just want to be prepared so I'm not running around for the right stuff? Thanks for any help, but I'm very new to all of this.

Re: How to remove G-16 body?
No special tools. A little time consuming but not that bad. You'll need: 10mm, 13mm and 12mm wrench or socket and driver, phillips head screw driver, small flat head screw driver for the shifter if I remember correctly (it has a small clamp like on an old style auto window crank holding it on). Be sure not to completely take apart the shifter cables, just loosen them so when you reinstall they are not way out of adjustment. Choke knob has a very small phillips head screw on the bottom.

I have mine torn apart right now, did it on Monday for the first time it only took about a hour. I didnt need anything else then what the first two replies stated. Just try and keep all the bolts together

Just let us know if you have any problems when you start taking it apart. The more challenging part may be getting it all back together. |

Re: How to remove G-16 body?
Well that wasn't too bad. Removed the seat and body in about an hour. The seats get redone this week and the new body gets painted next week!. In between comes the clutch, shocks, wheels/tires and everything else. This was long overdue...
Cheers! Paul |
