Faster txt
I am the new owner of a 2014 txt 48v. They said it was pds. I want to make it faster. I’m not familiar with golf carts at all so where do I start?

Re: Faster txt
There are many ways to make it faster.
What's the top speed now? What top speed do you want? Do you live in hilly terrain, plan on pulling anything with it, have a back seat on it? Do you plan on putting larger tires on it? Do you plan to go off roading with it? Those questions are the baseline. You can get it 'programmed' for 19mph. Then if you put 21 inch tires on it with a few inches of lift, the larger tires will gain you maybe another mile per hour, putting you at 20. Those are the cheapest options. The rest of the options are dependent on what you really do with the cart. Lastly, the brakes and steering are meant to handle an unlifted cart at 16mph. My 2011 TXT48 does 30mph top speed and it is not a pleasant ride going that fast, so I very rarely ever do. If you want a well controlled and comfortable ride at 30 or more then you have more to do. My cart is completely comfortable to about 26mph. |

Re: Faster txt
Welcome to BGW
This is the new PDS. Officially it is called the TXT48. It is 48v and has a bigger motor than the older model. I have this cart in my R&D fleet It is very simple to boost performance with an Alltrax XCT400 controller and 200 solenoid. It will gain 35% more torque (power) and quicker acceleration to 23 mph on stock tires. Tires up to 22" are no problem with the stock motor. |
