Just bought new everything, the EZ-GO still won't go!!!

Lets see, I used this diagram:

(The second one shown, the big one) Roady89 told me to use it

I have a late 70s style 36V resistor cart...

It is wired exactly to the diagram's specifications... (checked by me and 3 others, many times)

I have 38V across the battery pack (brand new as of yesterday, 6.3V per battery, 90% charged)

I have 1 ohm across two of the motor contacts
I have 1400 ohms across the two other contacts (one of which is a direct ground to the battery)

My solenoid won't activate, I am only getting 0.1 volts through the activation circiut, but no resistance (when eveything is turned on)

The reverse buzzer works properly, and loudly...

I have checked all the circuits again and again, no broken contacts, or even dirty ones...

Batteries have proper water levels...

I see no sparks (not even at night) when speed board changes speeds...

The motor won't go at all...

The motor won't even go when I bridge (bypass) the solenoid...
It won't even go on jack stands!!!

HELP ME PLEASE!!! If you need pictures or even video I can do that!!!

Please, constructive criticism only, I put 3 months of work into this cart!!!

Do a motor test. Look here for instructions on how to do that.
Series Motor Diagnostics

I can tell you how to do it my way as well.

Jack up the rear of cart and place it on jackstands.

Disconnect all motor connections
Hard wire S1 to A2
Then with a single 6 volt battery or 12 volt connect the positive (+) of the battery to the S2 terminal on the motor and the negative (-) to the A1 terminal of the motor.

Your tires should spin....if not you have a motor problem. Be carefull when you hook up the battery because you will have no speed control....How fast you can pull the wire off is how fast you can shut it off. If you have to buy a motor they are about $500-$600 dollars for that model and that is for a stocker. There is no aftermarket high performance motors for that differential. I had EMP re-work mine (same motor) and it flys. Thats as close as your going to get for an aftermarket motor.

Is there a way I can get it rebuilt, theres no way I can sell the cart for more than it'll cost me to get a new motor. I allready have 250 + 460 + 150 in it, and adding 500 will bring it above a possible sale price...

Hmm...Yes I just saw the motor and it did run. It could be possible that the brushes are toast or a bad spot in the commutator. Have you tried to spin the tires by hand while putting the juice to it. Reason I ask is today I had a mag drill's brush's go bad....I could spin the chuck a little and it would start working...

Yes....EMP can rebuild it. Rebuild or re-work for more power it cost the same.

How much does it cost for a minor repair?

What about a full rebuild!?!

I have another pressing Q, why was there only 0.1V running to the solenoid (the control circuit (small wires)) when everything was on (pedal down, key turned, switch in forward/reverse) Is the bad motor the reason why I am getting low volts, if so, then yay because that means I have only one problem left!!!

You should be getting full pack voltage to that circuit. That won't stop the motor from working though. Did you spin any of the motor terminals taking the cables off the motor?

YES, **sighs**, I'm so ashamed... **Crys to himself**

I knew it, I knew that bolt wasn't supposed to spin (however, I tighened it back down!!!)

HELP...

Well, about how much will fixing THAT cost? And, rebuilding an engine for performance, do I have to have more volts, or can they make it go faster with same voltage, I kinda already have the batteries and 36V solenoid...

You broke the connection inside.....if your up to it, you can take the motor apart and get a motor shop, plumber, radiator shop or even an AC guy to solder the terminal back on.

You will have to call EMP and tell them what you have and what you want and they will build it.
