Throttle problem?
Can anyone tell me what to look for in my buddys 82 mod 36 volt why when you touch gas peddel in either foward or reverse it will take off at full throttle,i,m talkin wide open speed wise.Thanks,Paul

1982 model has the silver box between the two driver side batteries for the control of speed. This box has the micro switches in it. The pedal pushes the slider in the box past each switch to activate the selonoid to go faster. Check this box out.

Luckily the car is simple mechanics. Andy is pointing you the right direction, the micro-switches or solenoids are usually the culprits..

also have an 82 but it has a silver box between the batteries and f/r switch that is connected to the gas pedal.....cart does not go...can you give me some step by steps....checked the solenoids and no juice at the big terms when pedal is pushed but have 36 at the small wires on the solenoids....any suggetions?

AKA, My experience is that your high speed solenoid is stuck 'ON'. This
causes all the power to come on with the first click. See if you can peck on it with something and make it turn loose, then replace it, or, just replace it to begin with. TG, Sounds like your first solenoid is shot. Jack the rear wheels up and jump the first solenoid's 2 large terminals, press the pedal and see if it runs. |

got it now.....broken wire coming from the f/r switch..going to the solenoids
