That makes sense, since you had a high open on pin 2, the negative side of the motor brake. There must be some corrosion on the inside of the socket in the harness plug. Unplug and replug that connector several times to wipe the connections. There is a tab that you must release as you pull the connector to remove it. That tab is in the center of one side of the connector. You must pull out on the end of the tab closest to the controller.
