Default did i screw up????

i got a 97 club car ds. i want to make a little nicer so i started taking off the body and when i took off the forward and reverse switch to remove the body i hoooked it back up wrong and there was smoke everywhere, i jerked the wires loose very quickly and the smoke stopped,, it melted the wire harness .can this be fixed??would it have messed up anything besides the wires?????i cant win for loosing.. i was gonna lift it with new tires and wheels and wrap the body,,,, HELP thanks

Almost everything is repairable!

Note to all:
ALWAYS disconnect the battery(s) before attempting any work on your cart!

iv got the body panels off and i can see the melted wires go to the little thing the pos wire from batt goes to and 2 wires to the switch is melted,, i can replace the wires one at a time with no problem but ill need help with hooking up the forward reverse switch, [thats what caused this in the first place] there is five wires at this switch,, thanks

photos??? man i ripped them wires off and run.. lol.. iv got the wires replaced now wasnt too bad.. i hope i didnt fry anything,, i just need to know how to plug uo the f/r switch and ill be good

My electrical engineering friends call that a blue smoke generator lol. Hope you didn't fry too much of the harness, and yes it is replaceable!
