Re: Diesel Engine?
I haven't seen anything here, did you search deisel engines?
Serching the net for small engines I came accross an article about a guy (maybe canadian) that put a japanese 9 hp deisel in a 3 wheeler for mileage reasons around town. Said it ran pretty strong, but the motor was about $1000. Google around for 9hp deisel, you'll find it and the motor for sale. Great price you found, but I worry it is a bit too small. |

Re: Diesel Engine?
Somewhere before I have seen Hatz diesels for sale like Northern Tool or Grainger. Not a lot of power for the money.

Re: Diesel Engine?
I can't remember the maker. But some one foriegn had a pretty good one. If you know diesels than you know what to expect. It is not power like a gas engine - but they pull tractor trailers with diesel for a reason.

Re: Diesel Engine?
Yeah scotty its torque but also fuel economy.Big trucks run anywhere from 10 to 15 litres in size.Besides I never drove any big truck that had a gas motor that was worth a ****.Those engines I was talking about were low horse unlike the one you mentioned. Also B&S has a Vanguard diesel for over 4K.

Re: Diesel Engine?
I found the 10 hp types for alot less$. $600 at your door.
They say equivalent to 12 or 13hp gas. But if you know diesels you know the power band is different. I've done some looking into this before. Are you going to do it? |

Like I said, I have been interested in a diesel cart project. Just a matter of finding the right cart.....I think I found some good deals today, Just wish they were a little bigger engines.....like 15hp!
