Trojan batteries
Looking at buying a 06 precedent and the owner says the batteries are 4 months old (4-12 volt). My question is how do I tell how old the batteries are? Do these batteries have punch out stickers on them like a regular battery or what. I think I can get this cart for 2K what do y'all think? The only add ons the cart has is a folding windshield and the golf club cover thing on the back. I am wanting to purchase my first cart to put a lift kit and tires on it. Thanks!

Re: Trojan batteries
the batteries will have a letter and number stamped on a terminal. the letter corresponds to the month of the year.
january-a feb-b march-c and so on.. then the number should represent the year...i believe. theres info on the forum about it but I am almost positive thats it. G9 would be july of 09 |

Re: Trojan batteries
I am new too, but from what I read in the owner's manual, the OCB, or better, the On Board computer, can tell you how many charges there have been to the batteries. I'll keep reading and try to figure out how to read the OCB. I am sure the computer knows, because, also, from what I read, the batteries are warrantied for 4 years, or 1000 rounds of golf, as to what the OCB says!

Re: Trojan batteries
You might want to consider that many owners of 12 volt Precedents are converting to 8 volt batterys to increase performance, range and battery life. Here in my area the Precedents with 12 volt batterys asking price is cheaper than the same cart with 8 volt batterys, NUFF SAID? From what I see the price is a little high but consider that you will possibly upgrade later on spend about $400 PLUS labor for conversion to 8 volts PLUS the price of Batterys? You must remember that different areas have various prices depending on demand and supply.
