solenoid kept clicking then burnt resistor?
Working on my "free" 1991 ezgo marathon. It has been sitting for years!! I put 6 new batteries in and new cables. Nothing!,, then tapped on the solenoid and it kept clicking for about 3 minutes, no movement with pedal pushed in forward or reverse. Then the small resistor caught fire and burnt up.
I don't have a key so I wired the key switch wire that comes out of the f/r controller and should connect to the neg bat. side to the pos side of the pack (i figured that was all the switch does anyway right?) With this on the solenoid continually clicks with no movement. help. |

Re: solenoid kept clicking then burnt resistor?
Typically the solenoid chatters under low voltage..... what is the voltage at the 2 small terminals on the solenoid? It should be 36v. The 'small resistor' is a 1 amp diode.
