92 Club Car Carberator Issues
After removing disassembling an thoroughly cleaning the carberator on my 92 club car, I now have a major problem. The engine will start and run but for some reason the carberator is over fueling. At an idle the fuel extra fuel is coming out the full of the vent line as well as filling up the air intake hose. The jets are clean and free of debris and the float, needle and seat seem to be working free. An ideas?

Sounds as if the float is stuck or you have some junk in the
needle seat holding it open. Tap on the top of the carb with a screwdriver handle. If that fails take the carb apart again. |

Re: 92 Club Car Carberator Issues
OK carb cleaned for the second time. Float needle etc... working fine. Blew out all jets. Still excess fuel problem. Engine will start on electric and run. As soon as you bring it off of idle it will run 5 seconds and flutter or quit. Lots of spark and 160lbs compression. The issue doesn't seem to be rev limiter as the engine will quit the same at WoT or with rpm at level just prior to primary clutch engagement.

Is the fuel still coming out the vent tube?
Did you change the fuel pump from stock? |

Re: 92 Club Car Carberator Issues
Got to be a needle not seating, that would be letting too much fuel flow into bowl and out the vent.

Re: 92 Club Car Carberator Issues
did you try re-adjusting the float? you know bending the tab so its sits lower in the bowl and lets less fuel in?? did you check to make sure there isn,t any type of pin hole in float? has to be either a needle not seating or somehow float adjustment is wrong.........i would try re-adjusting the float itself........................

Re: 92 Club Car Carberator Issues
Well I think I got to the bottom of the problem. After checking and rechecking the float/needle operation, I decided to swap out the needle spring for a slightly longer spring. Reinstalled carb to no avail. After a few profanities and frustrations, I decided to try it one last time with the head heat equalizer tube disconected. After a bit of smoke and fluttering it runs like a charm. Turns out this tube was the source of all of the excess fuel. The oily black looking crud coming out of this tube was the extra fuel that has been flooding the engine. My guess is the poor little kawy ran with the float stuck for as long as it could until finally the base became flooded with gas. Now the extra gas was pressurizing the base enough to escape through the head vent. Anyone have anybody have other ideas why this occured? Now off to change the oil and filter.
