Default Resistor to Solid State 36V conversion ?

I'm trying to make my pit cart faster but Ive made a mistake ordering parts. I ordered a G.E. D392 high speed motor, H.D. F&R switch, H.D. Solenoid And heavy gauge wires, but didn't realize my cart being resistor mattered to the new motor. I am buying a Solid State 700 amp controller. The question is, can anyone shed some light on what I'm doing ? Is it terribly difficult to wire, what extra parts do I need ? How fast should it go with 26" tires ? Thanks in advance ! Mike

There are 2 types of throttle indicators out there. Their signal is in ohms resistance. CC stock controller carts use a 5k-0 signal (thats the throttle signal). Everybody else uses 0-5k.... You are going to start from scratch...so you should (IMO) go with the more common 0-5K controller and you will want a Curtis made PB-6 ( Potentiometer = common throttle body used for electric vehicles and that's the ezgo part you mentioned) These two things must be matched..They both need to be 0-5k....You need a good hd 48v solenoid. 700 amps is an awful lot of controller. Who said you needed that much controller for that motor?

ScottyB, I am a newbie at the cart mods game, So I have to take direction from often multiple sources, some good some bad thats why I am glad to find this site. With that being said I was told to buy the 700 amp "matching " controller, Should I ? or what do you suggest ? I have not ordered it yet BUT would prefer to order from Jerry @ cartzone ! Hes been a big help so far. Also what hooks the throttle linkage if I remove the V glide ?

You are gonna have to fab up a mount and possibly a linkage mod depending on how and where you mount it...
