On my set I would aim for a 25-30 % overdrive which would put me near where my G14 is now with 3700 rpms ='s 25 mph.

Did you say most clutches end up as 1 to 1 at high rpm??

But the sled 2 stroke will turn much more. 7 to 10,000 depending on engine.

JD whats the red line rpm on your engine?

Well someone check my math! but I came up with 49.67 mph @ 7,000 rpm's

7,000 rpm's--
clutch ratio 1 to 1
13t to 60t-- 4.61 ratio
22'' tire, circumference of 34.54

And that 340 will not pull that much gear out of the hole!

Thinking you are going to have to get that 4.61 up to about 6 or 7 to 1

2 stroke sled engines have no low end power, they make power at the top.

to much gear, low rpm will not come out of the hole

My buddys 440 sled, cvt to jack runs about 50 mph. but it takes 35 40 foot to get rpms up to power band. slow out of the hole, then a rocket to the end.

Here's a site that has all you need to figure out Your ratios. The catalog part is out of date but the information is priceless. I'm running a 780 drive and driven on my racing mower. The clutch ratio is hi = .69 to 1 and low is 3.71 to 1 on a comet gearbox. and a 12 tooth drive sprocket to a 48 tooth driven sprocket = 4 to 1 ratio. As of now we have 51 mph at 4100 rpm on a VC460. We have 19.5 inch tires all the way around.

I don't know how to compute any of that. In your in your opinion with my setup what sprockets should I run? It's a Polaris 340 fan-cooled snowmobile engine with stock primary and secondary clutches that will run to a jackshaft which will in turn run a live axle via chain with 22in tires? I'm Not Looking For Tons of Speed. Hoping for 35 miles an hour and some tork out of the hole.

Does your cart now have a cart rear end?

If so, is it a gas or electric rear end?

What kind of cart is it?

Is the one pic in this post your cart??
If so nice work!
Is that a live axle the rear clutch is mounted on. cant see, rear cross member in the way. If so I am guessing way to much gear and will not take off??

A top speed of only 35 and tires smoking is very doable.

Even if you used a gas cart rear with 6 to 1 gears given your increase in RPM with the 2 stroke. and you would have reverse.

I am still playing with some numbers on sprockets.
I am thinking 10t to your 60t ( 6 to 1 ) ratio. but the 10t sprocket is small, don't know if you would have issues with keeping the chain on?
My calculations, this would give you a 32.7 MPH @ 6,000rpm's and should come out of the hole like a rocket!

And you may not have to move your engine, We put the jackshaft above the rear end because of space.

A 4 to 1 ratio in your sprockets should work -- That would be a 12 tooth drive and a 48 tooth driven sprocket.
