Default Club car ds

If I put a meter on the battery and I go to crank the golf cart the battery read from 13 down to 7 and it won't crank. To me it's acting like something it is shorting out.

If you're checking it across the battery posts, a drop like that says the battery has gone on permanent vacation.

But when I stop trying to crank it the voltage on the battery goes back up to 13 volts

Can you turn the engine by hand?

I just went through this on my Honda van. Replaced the battery, replaced the starter, no change. The A/C compressor had locked up and was not allowing the engine to turn over.

I put a new battery in the golf cart, but when I try to start it the clutch and the starter is only turning a half a turn a stops and it repeats it as long as I keep my foot in the gas. It won't make a full rotation.
