Default Stealth Patroit 4 x 4 question

I have a 2009 Stealth Patriot hunting cart 48 volt (8 6-volt). I cleaned all my connections and found that the wires that go to the front wheel drive where hooked to 3 of the 6 volt batteries (not 2 to make 12 volts) and the inline fuse was blown. I was wondering if anyone know if this is correct? I would think someone that had this thing before hooked it up wrong. Should this be 12 volts or 18 volts??

Also, wondering if this has damaged the front wheel drive by not being energized and me using cart for 3 years?

The front differential should be getting 12V.

I don't think it has damaged it, it probably just hasn't been activated in a while.
