Default Head on 2 stroke

Looking to add a little more power to the 2 stroke in my cart. Does anyone know what the safe amount is that I can shave off the head on this motor?.. I was thinking between 10,000 and 30,000 but wasn't sure....

.030 might get you half a point higher compression. Find out what the bore and stroke is and you could get a closer estimate.

Yea I'm going to start tearing it down in a couple of weeks and I will be able to fine out if it is still the stock bore or not. I'm hoping that it is where I can bore it when I shave the head..

You could also try a thinner cylinder base gasket. As long as the piston doesn't protrude out of the cylinder.

I thought about that.. I take .050 off of the race cars that we run but I was afraid that it would be to much on this motor.
I will try this and see if it will work.

Not running them anymore.... Started out running Chevettes on dirt track and then moved up to the superstock class with a 70 Nova.. Sold it and ran a open wheel modified for about a year... Stopped all racing about 5 years ago except my son does some motorcross racing and I still run a demolition derby every once in a while....

No,, We ran mostly in Baxter at that dirt track and then we ran some up in Lenoir City (near Knoxville) where my son does some motorcross racing...
