Which one do you have, the 48V one?

When you have finished charging with the CC charger do you just disconnect the CC charger and connect this one at each end of the pack without disconnecting any of the battery cables?

yawood ...with a 48 volt save a battery maintainer you disconnect the cc charger after it shuts off and hook up the 48v maintainer ...it comes with alligator clips , black goes to main negative and red goes to main positive and you are done. I have one and it keeps my pack at around 53.2 as well , leave all of your battery cables connected. yellow light on the maintainer will blink until it reaches maintenance level ..around 53.2 and it will keep the pack at that level as long as the maintainer is connected. Works like a champ!

This seems like a really simple solution to battery wear and tear and eventual destruction.

I wonder why the Golf Car manufacturers have not added a maintainer mode to their chargers?

Not sure I get this. I have a DPI (w/float) and no "maintainer". So, the idea is that once my DPI is done charging, then it won't pick up the charge-slack if the batteries drop below optimum voltage?

The DPI will stay in float mode and keep the batteries charged 100% of the time.
My cart is at camp and when I get there on Friday's, the pack is at 52-53 volts plugged in.
Ready to go.

Now, that being said, I am now considering a battery maintainer just to put on the cart during the week to "save" the DPI...the maintainer is a helluva lot less expensive than the DPI!

I just ordered one of the save a battery maintainers yesterday, less than $100 shipped on Amazon, My CC charger works fine, but it does shut off at 51.2 or .3 , which I guess is normal with new batteries ? but I like the idea of the maintainer keeping it at slightly higher voltage and helping to make them last longer, those CR190's weren't exactly cheap!

Ok, I have a 2012 Club Car DS, so does this mean I can merely hook up the 48V Save-A-Battery to the proper terminals without having to bypass the OBC? I want to still use my Lester PD3 for "quick" charging, so I don't want to bypass the OBC and mess that up. This whole bypass/not bypass thing is a bit confusing to me so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks..RUT
