Club car DS front lift
Hello all,
I have a 2000 Club Car DS with a spindle lift kit. Not sure what brand as the PO installed it. I did upgrade to HD rear springs. The issue I'm having is the bushings between the front leaf spring and the A arm keep getting smoked. Dave at Revolution said that's common in this type of lift and the only way to fix it is a double A arm lift. The problem is I don't have the $$ to do that right now. Do any of you on here know of a fix I can use until those funds are available (next year)? |

All I could say is remove yours and see if you can purchase a higher grade material bushing from the auto parts store. I had to replace some of mine (Double A arm lift) that were a cheap rubber type and got a high quality High Energy Urethane Bushings.

Re: Club car DS front lift
Go to advance auto parts and purchase these. Do not over tighten them.

Re: Club car DS front lift
No expert by any means, but it looks like the leaf spring risers are at a severe angle, almost like the lower A-arms are on backwards and should be swapped to line them up better. Bushings will only last when the force is straight down on them. Then upgrade the bushings. FYI: That's not a spindle lift, it's an A-arm.

Re: Club car DS front lift
Yes, I had a similar issue on my DS. The risers are at a severe angle. I actually removed the lower control arms, drilled holes an inch or so in towards the middle of the cart and reinstalled everything. Doing this solved my issue of the bushings getting 'squeezed' out on one side. And yes, don't over tighten the risers, which can put too much pressure on the bushings.
