Default Ezgo RXV headlights

What is supposed to drop the voltage on these carts? This is a used cart we picked up and it's running great now, last issue to work on is the headlights, we're getting a full 48 volts at the headlight plugs instead of only 12volts. Is there supposed to be a regulator somewhere? Thanks

If your cart came with factory light there should be a dc to dc reducer under the driver seat next to the batteries.

I seen a cart the other day with factory lights on it, and it was hooked up to the second battery in the pack. The customer was complaining about it draining that battery when the lights were on. I put a converter in his. I would look for the wires for the lights, sounds like on the pack positive and negative, and run it through a converter. Probably going to have to buy one, if there isn’t a little box on driver side, under the seat

Yes, some Rxv with factory lights didn't have DC converter. Those were connected to the front left most battery. When dealing with aftermarket lights, who knows...
