Default My CJ7

I'm not sure if pics will come through, I don't think I've been a member long enough, or had enough posts. But, I humbly submit my '85 CJ7. I did a 5.3 swap that is CA smog legal. I did a 4L60E transmission mated to the original Dana 300 using Advanced Adapters items. I put in a Currie 9" rear end, ARB lockers both ends, 4 wheel disk brakes, A/C, etc.... I only have a 4" lift, still on leaf springs, and 33's, but with 4:10 gearing I can run 70 and get 20 MPG, so overall I'm happy. Sometimes I have been known to have a little fun and embarrass Mustang GT's, Camaro's, etc...
The Jeep has treated me well and I really enjoy the reliability, drivability, and just plain fun of this Jeep. If you've ever thought about doing this swap, I say go for it.

im another jeep guy. actually have my own shop that im in the process of moving to another state. that's 1 of the most common swaps I do, an ls in any jeep. I have an 04 im playing with for myself, looking to drop a 6.0 n it. I already have an atlas in it. then im going with a hp d44 ft and 9" rear and sure end up with a sweet dd/crawler

It is a great swap with so many positives. Keeping it smog legal here in CA was the hardest part. And even that wasn't really that hard. I see a lot of people start a project like this, with few finishers. You plan sounds about perfect.
In time I want to stretch and link it, but for now I enjoy it the way it is.
