My Tomberlin Firehawk minibike with some mods...
Hello,
Thought I'd post some pics of my Tomberlin Firehawk minibike (very similar to the baja). I made it into a 'softail' by making a swing arm and adding rear shocks. *Actually I believe the company Tomberlin is owned (or vice versa) with club cars? Not entirely sure. Here's the original manual: https://www.northerntool.com/images/...uals/13181.pdf Older pic: Since then added a 212cc Predator engine & adjust the swing arm. Will add some updated pics t |

Re: My Tomberlin Firehawk minibike with some mods...
Thanks :)
Using An Arc welder with rod..and still learning...welds aren't pretty but strong. Just got it back together yesterday. Forgot to mention in the old pic (first one in post). I was using crappy shocks and I had the swing arm pivot point too low. So when the shocks compressed the chain would loosen a bit. This time I placed the swing arm pivot point in line with the center of the small forward sprocket and the center of the rear sprocket. Got some used moped shocks (ones with the orange coils) and love 'em hehe really nice ride now and the chain stays at the same tension no matter the movement of the rear shocks :D Will post some pictures in a few hours. t |

Nice job on the swing arm conversion. These mini bike threads got me motivated to get mine going. Its old, has a pretty much dead Tecumsea and thats all I know about it. I looked at the carb and exhaust and it looks like it will bolt up to a 5hp Honda I rescued from the desert.
