On a more serious note: What are you needing a reverse rotation for? |

What about this?
http://www.fourwheeler.com/techartic...xle/index.html If Currie doesn't have it, they can make it, and if they can't make it, you don't need it! If you took their Hi Pinion housing and flipped it, I think you would get what you seem to be asking for...or not!? |

Re: Reverse rotation ring and pinion for ford 9"
Thanks guy's. For me that would (in my minds eye) be perfect. Called a (quote) tech guy at Currie and said it wouldn't work??????? I'm about to spend the 250 and prove him wrong. I WANT THIS DONE! WAAAAAAAAA! This is the last puzzle peice before the fabrication part of the bike engine build. Can't beleive it's taken 3 months to figure out this diff problem.

Dave, I'm pretty sure that will work for what I think you want to do, and should be fairly easy to set up. Keep us updated!

Re: Reverse rotation ring and pinion for ford 9"
The reason that you need the reverse rotation gears when the rear is flipped with the ring on the opposite side is so that the power is pushing on the nearly perpendicular face of the gear teeth instead of on the angle face. If you don't change the gears and try to apply too much power on the angle side of the gears, the gears can be pushed apart hard enough to cause failure.
I was in Garden Tractor Pulling for several years and we used motorcycle engines in the modified classes. I have seen some of these engine putting out more than 300 Hp. You have to set the gears up right to withstand that much power, since the motorcycle engines turn in the opposite direction of a car engine. Front axles on 4WD vehicles use reverse rotation gears. Pull some from a from diff and then install them in a rear diff to get what you want. |

Re: Reverse rotation ring and pinion for ford 9"
Ordered the Currie reverse rotation 3.31 ring and pinion set. Have to say there website/checkout is not what i'm used to. They took my money, but no verification of an order. This just has to work or I'm stopping the project. Thanks for all your help Flint and all the helpfull members suggestions.
