Kanes Burden Carrier
It was originally an electric machine but the battery, motor and charger were all striped off it.Ive got a 17.5 horse briggs i would like to use on it.My question is would the motor be big enough for it?What clutch do i need?Is there a website to help me with the pulley sizes so i can figure my speed?Im just going to use this machine for hunting off of and some driving around the farm. All help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Kanes Burden Carrier
Never seen one of these, but I would think 17.5hp should be enough for just basic use. If there like other burden carriers, it probly heavy, an in need of a little bit of lift and some bigger/wider tires for off road use.
As far as pulleys you will kinda have to do a test and trial thing. Clutching might be a problem. You may have to buy a 4 cycle golf cart rear end to fit the diven clutch on???? Come to think about it, 17.5hp I think are typically verticall shafts, if so you will have a hard time useing it. there's a lot of smart guys on here they mat be able to help you out...of course there some that will say it can't be done also.... |

I can't find a pic that doesn't look like a freight tug.

Re: Kanes Burden Carrier
Talking about the weight,I can pick up both ends of it.I dont know the exact weight of it.I could try to find an old motor cycle engine to put on it instead of the vertical shaft engine. It would be easier to go that way. Thanks for the thoughts guys.
